Tell me, baby!

We're heading out to Hood Canal for the weekend and should be taking off as soon as Rob gets off work today. I'll have time soon to edit the Christmas photos and post them...

Until then, I thought I'd share the growing list I've been keeping on the fridge of Ryan's vocabulary. His most used words (other than mama and dada) are uh-oh, Kai Kai (our dog), and hot (said in a whisper!).

Ham

As I have previously mentioned, Ryan loves accessories! Here he is "sporting" wrist sweat bands with a soccer ball and basketball on them. One is his new words is BALL so he is loving that he can wear these wherever he goes (even to bed one night this week).

Also amongst his accessories are a new hammer and screwdriver (that also had to go to bed with him this week). And of course, his beads (no, we do not put any of this on him...this is ALL him!).

Our nanny, Valerie, took these photos of him hamming it up for the camera. He such a happy, easy-going, busy little guy. Highlights of his recent developments include giving kisses, saying a ton of new words, and using a spoon (sometimes).

Finally

...a post with some new photos! I will have a lot more to come, and A LOT more time in the coming week or two to do so! Jury duty was quite an experience...three weeks, man on trail for murder in the first degree, guilty verdict, looooong days..it was exhausting but a very worthwhile experience.

Anyway, Christmas is upon us and we have finished our shopping, 99% of the gifts are wrapped, and we even stuffed the stockings last night (probably the only year we will get away with doing it early). We're gearing up for some fun time with family and friends in the coming days. Wednesday we have an annual Eve of Christmas Eve dinner party with our friends Molly and John. Christmas Eve we will be at the Bryant's (Rob's mom), Christmas morning will be here at our house, and Christmas dinner will be at my parents house.

Well, on to the photos!! (more soon, I promise)

Bubble

is tonight's word! I promise I'll get some new photos taken and up soon! I'm STILL on jury duty and hope we will wrap up soon...this is week three and I want to get back to my "real life" and have my routine back!

Up

New word of the day around here: "up" (said with a very pronounced "p"). Love this talking business!!

Other recent words:  kick, whoa, bonk (sounds like "ba"), bzzz, and boom (sounds like "bum") and book (sounds like "ook")

Words

Other than "mama" and "dada", Ryan said his first word this weekend: "kick" (sounds more like kuck) and likes to exclaim it as he kicks his ball or kicks his legs in the bath! He is also trying to say "bonk" and often repeats words we say but doesn't say them on his own like he does kick. It's SO much fun! He's also starting to make animal noises and so far has noises for dog, bird, bee (with a finger motion making a circle), and monkey. I knew this would be a blast...but I am loving every moment and trying to savor and soak it all in!

It's a girl - I know it's probably hard to see but the buns are on the right and the legs sticking out to the left.

This one is also a buns on the left and the legs are lifted up.

Little update

Hi family and friends...

I have some recent (and very fun photos!) to post but have been swamped and a little exhausted. I was selected for jury duty and have been selected to serve on a serious case that is slated to run through Dec. 15 or 16. I will get new photos up when time allows...but there isn't much "extra" right now as my days in court are longer than my usual work hours and I come home pretty wiped out.

Anyway, did want to let you know we have a second ultrasound on the one day I don't have court...FRIDAY! We are thrilled to be able to take another peek at baby Judge and hopefully get that 60-70% chance of a girl moved to a 100%! I will have photos and maybe even a DVD of the session and will be sure to share Friday what our final verdict (no court pun intended) is.

Hope you are well -
Come back soon for photos (I'm working on it!) -
Love,
Brooke & fam
